At Questfield International College, we believe that leadership is an essential skill for personal and professional success, and we are committed to cultivating it in every student. Leadership at Questfield is more than a title or position—it is a way of thinking, acting, and contributing to the world. Through a wide range of roles, programs, and opportunities, students are empowered to develop both individual and collective leadership abilities, preparing them to navigate their own lives confidently while positively influencing their communities.
Individual Leadership
At Questfield, every child is encouraged to be the leader of their own life. By fostering self-awareness, resilience, and accountability, we guide students to take responsibility for their actions, decisions, and growth. Through structured opportunities such as Student-Led Conferences, students actively participate in shaping their learning journey by reflecting on their progress, setting personal goals, and communicating these with teachers and parents. This practice helps develop critical self-management skills, empowering students to approach challenges with confidence and purpose.
Programs such as the ‘Special Forces‘ course further enhance individual leadership by focusing on essential skills like public speaking, critical thinking, media literacy, and problem-solving. Students in this program tackle real-world issues, learn entrepreneurial skills, and explore innovative solutions to challenges, all while building the confidence needed to lead themselves through life’s complexities.
Collective Leadership
At Questfield, we also emphasize the importance of collective leadership—where students work together in Leadership Teams together with teachers and parents to achieve shared goals, support one another, and contribute meaningfully to their community. Through platforms like the Students Council, students represent their peers and collaborate to lead initiatives that improve school life. This fosters a culture of shared responsibility, teamwork, and mutual respect.
School Ambassadors take on a key role in representing Questfield at events, partnerships, and formal gatherings, presenting the school to visitors, parents, and prospective families. By engaging in public speaking, diplomacy, and collaboration, ambassadors embody the essence of collective leadership while honing their interpersonal skills.
Leadership opportunities are also embedded in school events, such as TEDxQIC, the Christmas Fair, and other community gatherings. Students take on significant roles in planning, organizing, and executing these events, gaining hands-on experience in teamwork, project management, and event coordination. These moments not only celebrate collective effort but also instill a deep sense of achievement and pride in working as a team.
Leadership in Arts, Sports, and Media
Creativity and collaboration are at the heart of Questfield’s leadership opportunities. Students lead as captains of their House Sports Teams, organizing training sessions and fostering team spirit. They play integral roles in the Assembly Team, delivering inspiring presentations to their peers, or contribute to creative projects as members of the Design Team, Drama Team, or News Team.
The School Blog and School Newspaper offer platforms for students to showcase their storytelling and writing skills, while also documenting the vibrant life at Questfield. These roles teach responsibility, time management, and collaboration, as students work together to share meaningful insights and reflections with the school community.
Mentorship and Peer Leadership
One of the most impactful ways students lead is by supporting and mentoring others. Through the ‘Big Brother’ / ‘Big Sister’ Program, older students mentor younger ones, fostering a culture of empathy, responsibility, and collaboration. House Leadership Roles also allow students to lead their house teams in competitions, events, and activities, cultivating teamwork and camaraderie.
A Balanced Approach to Leadership
Leadership at Questfield is a dynamic balance of individual leadership and collective leadership. By nurturing each student’s ability to lead themselves with confidence and purpose while working collaboratively to achieve shared goals, we prepare them to become well-rounded leaders.
Students learn that leadership is not just about individual achievements, but also about uplifting others, working together, and creating positive change. This dual approach ensures that Questfield students are equipped to make meaningful contributions in their personal lives, their communities, and the broader world.
