At Questfield International School, our Career Advice program is an integral part of our educational journey, designed to help students discover their strengths, interests, and aspirations from an early age. This experience begins in Creche and Nursery, where we introduce children to the world of careers through engaging activities such as Career Weeks. These school-wide events bring various professions to life, allowing our youngest learners to explore the many possibilities ahead. Additionally, our Enrichment program offers hands-on opportunities that introduce students to life skills and early exposure to professional roles in a fun and meaningful way.
As students progress into Primary School, our Career Advice program builds on this foundation by bringing them closer to real-life applications of their learning. Teachers design real-world Maths and Science projects and events that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Through these projects, students gain practical skills that help them connect classroom concepts to everyday life, fostering curiosity and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
To further enrich their experience, we incorporate external expertise into the program. Experts from various fields are regularly invited to the school for special projects and assemblies, where they share insights about their professions and the skills required for success. These interactions inspire students and provide valuable role models as they begin to imagine their own career paths.
In Secondary School and Sixth Form, the program becomes more personalized, helping students make informed decisions about their futures. We offer the support of internal career counselors who work closely with students to explore their interests and identify potential career pathways. These counselors coordinate with external specialists to assist with building strong university application portfolios, including personalized advice on course selection, extracurricular activities, and essay writing.
Beginning with Year 9, students have the opportunity to participate in internships based on their expressed interests. The school’s Career Counsellor collaborates with a network of organizations to map internship opportunities that align with students’ ambitions. These internships provide hands-on experience, helping students gain a deeper understanding of their chosen fields and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application.
For students who are uncertain about their career paths, we offer tests that assess their pottential, access to university compatibility platforms, and individualized support and orientation for both them and their families. These resources help guide students as they explore possibilities and find clarity in their future decisions.
This structured and gradual approach ensures that students at Questfield are equipped with the tools, experiences, and guidance they need to confidently explore their future pathways, fostering growth, resilience, and informed decision-making at every step of their educational journey.
